The company and courses are run by Silvia Fitzpatrick. Silvia is a very experienced climber who holds the Mountain Instructor Award and is a full member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors and the Mountain Leaders Training Association.

Silvia has been climbing all over the world over for 20 years and has built up an extensive and impressive mountaineering CV; highlights include climbing the North Face of the Eiger, making the first female ascent of Cerro Fitzroy in Patagonia, becoming British Climbing Champion and becoming one of the few female climbers to climb a route with the magic 8b grade.

Silvia was a Sports and Modern Languages teacher before training and qualifying to become a climbing instructor and she uses this teaching experience to help people learn new mountain skills whether they are just starting to climb and scramble or whether they want to gain specific rock climbing skills at an advanced level.

Rock Climbing Courses

North Wales and Snowdonia have an amazingly rich and diverse concentration of climbs - long scrambles, classic mountaineering routes, adventurous sea cliffs, bolted sports routes plus single and multi-pitch cragging.

Our climbing courses cover all these mountaineering and climbing activities and we can instruct these skills at all levels.

Our most popular courses include:

Climbing Taster: A great introduction to rock climbing for the adventurous or a fast and effective method of learning the basic skills involved in climbing for those taking looking to start climbing. This is one of the shorter courses that we run and normally lasts between 4 and 8 hours.

Learn to Climb: A more comprehensive version of our Climbing Taster course and a complete introduction to rock climbing that will give you the core skills and knowledge so that you can start climbing independently and safely.

Climbing Outside and Learning to Lead Climb: The perfect climbing courses for those who have some indoor climbing experience and want to increase their skill set so that they can start climbing outdoors safely and competently.

Mountain Scrambling

Mountain scrambling is an adventurous and natural extension to hill walking that at it's upper end blurs into the world of mountaineering.

We run mountain scrambling courses in Snowdonia for all levels of ability and experience; we can teach you the rope work and movement techniques needed to climb your first grade 1 scrambles; we can give you the extra skills and confidence to tackle your own grade 3's or we can guide you up the classic scrambles that abound in Snowdonia.

Scrambling can be enjoyed by anyone who is aerobically fit and likes an exciting challenge - our scrambling courses will help accelerate the learning process and teach you best practice whilst keeping you safe.

Our most popular courses include:

Snowdon via Crib Goch or Clogwyn Y Person Arete: This is probably the most famous scramble in Wales and could be described as 'Snowdon the Hard Way'. The difficulties can range from mild to extreme depending on the variations climbed, but in any case the exposure is huge and the traverse across the Crib Goch ridge is unforgettable. The views are amazing on this route.

Scrambling the Welsh Classics: A 2 day course that will help you scramble the best routes in Snowdonia. The routes we attempt will depend on your mountain experience and fitness, but could include Cneifion Arete, Bristly Ridge and Tryfan via Milestone Buttress approach.
